Sky Motel

Sky Motel (1999) Kristin Hersh

(Note #1: If you ever get a chance, there's a website called, I think, Archive.org. They have full live recordings available for download. There's an awesome live version of "Echo" out there.)

(Note #2: Sky Motel has some excellent songs ("Echo", "A Cleaner Light", "Cathedral Heat", & "San Francisco") but it's mostly filler.)

A KH mix

I downloaded a bunch of Kristin Hersh sleeve scans and decided, instead of posting all the images from, say, Sky Motel or Sunny Border Blue, I'm just going to post my favorites, the ones that I think are the most striking.

Here's Sunny Border Blue (2001)

Partytime, woo.

A week ago I made plans for a small get-together at my place, just a chance to drink, which I rarely do.

A four person guestlist: 2 co-workers (including a supervisor and my boss), and my best friend and his girlfriend.

There was a misunderstanding and my co-workers had to work tonight (though they did invite me to come there and said they'd buy me some drinks for my birthday; as it turns out the place closed at 10pm so I couldn't make it there).

But I got beer and chips and salsa (Did you know that Dustin Pedroia sells his own salsa? His piture's on the jar and everything. The store didn't have it so I bought another kind- it was good).

Anyway, my friend was smart and brought a box of Trivial Pursuit cards and we quizzed each other (We didn't keep an official count but I won). We had a great time and now I'm drunk. I've got some booze left but I can barley drink my drink now; it's no fun alone.

So that's my night. Hope you had fun too.

Partytime

Right now I'm getting ready to get into my loveseat and finish reading 'salem's Lot. Then it's bed, get up and cash my check, then... get ready for a party at my house. It's going to be intimate and casual and I think everyone's going to have a lot of fun.

There's a lot of cleaning and stuff I've gotta do tomorrow afternoon. I'll let you know how everything turns out afterwards.
