It's official

I am a focused, driven, ambitious person- hungry for challenges and success, on a non-stop express train to my many goals.

I finally started a couple days ago. One of my new things is that I'm now shaving every day that I have to work. It used to be that I'd skip a few days and get a little scruffy. Nobody said to be more clean shaven. In fact, two of the managers said they like my "scuffy look", and the owner said I looked "very GQ". My skin gets irriated, but eventually I'd like to start shaving everyday, even my days off.

Something I've been doing for the past two days is cleaning my room. I want it to be organized and use the space better. All of my art supplies need to be at arm's reach and there's gotta be a place to work where I don't have to move shit around before I get started. That's important.

I've got library books that were supposed to go back at theend of march. I'm gonna return them this weekend.

Part of my new system is I'm not going to put things off anymore. That means there's a lot of catching up to do cause I've put off a lot of shit.

I've filled up an entire sheet of paper with money-making plans and schemes. Some things just won't happen, they're bad ideas that wouldn't work, but most of the things on the list are do-able. One example is window displays.

I live in a town with a very popular downtown. There are a lot of businesses on and around Main Street with small-to-medium-sized storefront windows and ever since I moved here I've wanted to design eye-catching visuals. I think I could do some great stuff, especially around Christmastime.

I'm going to choose a few stores that need help. Then I'm going to do some sketches, find the cheapest way to execute things, and then present the blueprints to the business owners.

I'm very excited because things are different now and I'm seeing opportunities everywhere.

Around New Years I cleaned out a pickle jar and put on a label that said Car Jar. At one point there was over $60 inside but I ended up needing the cash for something else. I'm starting over and everything goes in there from now on. Not everything, actually. I'm gonna check out some banks- sometimes they'll put $50 in your new account after the first 60 days. I also got, for Christmas, a change bank that has a digital display and counts your change as you insert it.

But the point is: you reap what you sow. I'm planting seeds (including some basil seeds- both of my original terrariums are back in business) for things to grow in the future.

Terrarium: Part Ten

My lush beautiful terrariums are not so lush anymore. I've got two miniture replicas of Death Valley. The spider plant cuttings got too much moisture and I think it was too soon to plant the basil. Plus they weren't getting enough sun.

Yesterday I threw down a few new basil seeds. Once they sprout I'm going to set the terrariums up in a spot where they'll get more light.

Wish me luck.

Terrarium: Part Nine

These are scary times for the terrariums. The first 12 basil plants wilted and died. I'd had the lid on the jars and I thought there was too much moisture trapped inside so I took the lid off and all the sprouts fell down.

I planted four seeds in a Dunkin Donuts cup and I'm going to plant a few more soon. Maybe it was too soon to plant seeds anyway. I'm not gonna let it get me down, or at least not too down.

Terrarium: Part Six

Terrarium: Part Six

My friend came over tonight and we got a Buffalo Chicken pizza- spicey chicken tenders, gorgonzola cheese, and caramelized onions. She brought her dijjy cam so I can finally share my terrariums with you.

Terrarium: Part Five

I'm a little worried about my newest basil seeds, the ones that I planted in a Dunkin Donuts cup- I planted them on Monday, March 15, it's Friday and they're still not up.

In other news, I got three of these things from my friend's house. They're round & spikey like artichokes and they grow low to the ground in clusters. I put one big one in with the spider plants and two small ones in the basil terrarium.

Now both terrariums look great, along with the different color rocks that I added last week. Everything's really coming together.

Terrarium: Part Three

There are now 13 sprouts. 13. And today I visited a friend who collects interesting rocks that she finds and we watched Chelsea Lately and she around 20 stones- half I put in my terrarium, half I saved for a future terrarium.

Note: The photo above is not a photo of my basil plants, though I do expect mine to look like that in a couple days.

Terrarium: Part Two

On Wednesday, March 3 I started my first terrarium and planted some basil seeds. Today I looked and saw 5 sprouts. They probably popped up yesterday while I was visiting family though it could've been Saturday.

I'm just so excited by the miracle of life. Less than a week ago they were seeds in a pouch; now they're baby basil plants. I wish I had a dijjy cam so I could snap some pictures but two of my buddies are coming over tomorrow night so I'll record the progress.

Terrarium: Part 1

I made my first terrarium today. After Christmas I found a couple tree-shaped cookie jars at Wal-Mart for $1.50 each and today I bought some Sweet Basil seeds. I'm going to put some rocks and things in later.

Also, once I get a bigger container- a fish tank- I'm going to plant some poppies. I love them (for a lot of reasons).

I'm really excited. My ultimate plan is to make some really nice small ones and sell them at one of the stores downtown- for just $10 probably. I'll print out a small little booklet w/ care instructions(they're very easy to maintain anyway, you basically just leave them alone I've read).

Once things start sprouting I'll post some pictures here. Stay tuned.

My Facebook status at the moment: "I'm making a terrarium today bitchesssssss."
