The first Prince album I got was Purple Rain. I loved it so I ordered 1999 from one of those 3 tapes for a penny music clubs. Those were cool. They'd be in People magazine or on the back page of Parade (from the Sunday paper) and whenever I saw an ad I'd go through it and mark off all the tapes I wanted. When I finally did join the 3 tapes I got for a penny were: the Flashdance soundtrack, Lionel Richie Can't Slow Down, and The Police Syncronicity.
1999 had a few cool songs but all in all it didn't grab me and I don't think I listened to Side Two more than once.
