new Black Francis album

The new Black Francis album, NonStopErotik comes out on March 30.

BF has been very busy since 2004 when the Pixies got back together.

He made two more Frank Black records: Honeycomb and the double album Fast Man/ Raider Man;
two songs with the Pixies: Kim Deal's "Bam Thwok" and Warren Zevon's "Ain't That Pretty At All";
then he started making music as Black Francis again: there was the full length Bluefinger, the Svn Fingers EP, an album with his wife under the band name Grand Duchy, Petits Fours, and now a new solo album NonStopErotik.

He's put out a lot of songs in 6 years (I can't believe that the Pixies have been back together-on stage at least- for 6 years now); most have been good, some have been forgettable, some have been excellent.

I consider these to be the best:

Honeycomb from the Honeycomb LP (errie and relaxing, great instrumentation)

Ain't That Pretty At All from the Warren Zevon tribute album (it sounds the way you'd expect the Pixies to sound in 2004; "Bam Thwok" would've made a perfect B-side to it)

Angels Come to Comfort You
Discoteque 36
Tight Black Rubber from the Bluefinger LP (he sounds like the old Black Francis exactly once on this record: during Tight Black Rubber when he says, "It's amazing/ It works"

Fort Wayne from the Petits Fours LP (it sounds like a warm, breezy spring night at dusk)

Here's the track list-
